She worked on it at nights in her basement studio while living alone, and she says, “I found a very surprising, small voice in me, and it was deep, deep behind my heart,” adding, “Through the process of making this music I was able to rewind myself to a time before fear. And in the absence of fear I found the intimate beat of sex, love, and melody.”
